Research reports American Beech? We went outside to identify plant on MMS campus. I think my plant is American Beech. I have reason to believe it is. American Beech is not on Vital Signs so I am submitting as a project. 2011-01-27 4CD8 3
Posters An expert's sketch book Vital Signs species expert "razorbill" always keeps a sketch book around when he's out in the field. Here's a peek at what this scientist-artist was carefully observing while doing seabird colony research with Maine Audubon. Check out his art, and let him know what you think. Better yet, post your own sketches of what you see while out looking for species! 2011-01-24 gmri 0

Research reports Are Common Periwinkles Affecting Biodiversity In Maine? My reasoning for studying this question is to find out whether or not Common Periwinkles are hurting our environment and if they are, how badly are they hurting it. I downloaded data from VitalSigns and put it into different graphs of different locations throughout Maine. My results reflected my original thoughts on what would happen in the experiment. Overall, my experiment shows how badly Common Periwinkles are hurting us as a state. 2015-05-20 CTLPeriwinkle 1
Journal articles Are Green Crabs Invasive? Green crabs are invasive and bad. Green crabs are overpopulated and they overpopulate other crabs. On October 23 2017 my class went to Reid state Park to collect green crab data and why their invasive. We went to Reid State Park and we caught and released green crabs, and while we had them we measured from the last spine to last spine on each side. These three pie charts show how many male and females we caught at Reid State Park. Two of the pie charts have more males than females but the last one at Fort Popham show more females than males. 2017-12-21 MarsBars 2

Species Cards Asclepias syriaca We are happy because we are outside on a sunny, beautiful and warm afternoon. We hear the motors of cars and the laughter of classmates along with water moving down the stream. We smell gas from a car and the water from the stream. We see cars rush by the school and people running around along with the plant in the stream waving back and fourth in the fall breeze. Problems and questions we ran into was the stream because the milkweed was in the middle of the stream, also another problem we ran into was finding the plant. 2012-01-04 DoraExplorer 0
